Description
Teaching a new generation of freedivers is a challenge for many. The instructor course will teach you all the virtues of imparting theoretical knowledge and performing practical exercises in the water. A good instructor needs to be knowledgeable in all areas of diving, as well as in legal matters, diving norms, marketing, teaching methodologies, lesson delivery and, of course, be able to pass on his or her own experience to the students.
To obtain an instructor’s licence, the following minimum results must be achieved:

- CWT -40m
- DYN 100m
- STA 4min 30s
- 5x CWT -20m with 60 seconds rest
- rescue from -20m
- demonstration of all underwater swimming techniques
8 DAYS
- theoretical lectures
- First aid exam
- O2 assistance exam
- practical exercises in the pool
- visit to the Y40 swimming pool
- deep dives in Krk (weekend in May or June)
- assisting on the PSS freediver and PSS advance freediver theory and pool courses (April or May)
- assisting on the PSS freediver depth course (May or June)
The theoretical and pool part of the course is held in Maribor.
Deep sea dives are available in Krk or in the Y40 pool in Italy.
The course will be led by PSS International Instructor and Head of the PSS Apnoea Section Jure Daić. His references are published here. Up to three assistants help with the practical parts of the course, both in the pool and at sea.
Price 1000 EUR
Price includes:
- attendance at the full course content,
- equipment rental,
- entrances to swimming pools,
- expert guidance.
Additional costs include:
- first enrolment as a PSS instructor €205 + VAT,
- First aid €100 (regular price €150),
- First aid with O2€100 (regular price €150),
- in the case of exam dives in the Y40 pool, the Y40 entry fee is also payable.

All students must be over 18 years of age and have successfully completed the PSS Advance Freediver course or equivalent level from another school.
Successful completion of the Master Class course is also desirable.
All students must have passed the first aid and O2 exams, which can also be taken as part of the instructor course.
A medical certificate of fitness to dive is required.
The licence is conditional on passing a theoretical and practical knowledge test.
