Presentation of the H2O team

H2O team is a sports association of underwater enthusiasts, whose members are involved in water sports, among which the main activities are underwater hunting and snorkelling, as well as scuba diving with autonomous equipment, underwater rugby, underwater photography and trolling.

With the increasing popularisation of scuba diving in the last years of the last millennium, there was a desire to establish a society to develop, teach and promote scuba diving. Thus, in 1998 the name H2O Team first appeared as a section of the Maribor Diving Association, and in 2006 as an independent association.

It has been more than ten years since the founding of the independent H2O team, but it has been developing as a section since the beginning of PD Maribor in 1976. In less than ten years, the association has grown to become the largest Slovenian diving association. Despite the fact that the headquarters of the association is in Maribor, it brings together scuba divers and underwater hunters from all over Slovenia and has exceeded 200 members in recent years.

The original initiators were Gregor Marinič – Kuli, Tomaž Urbančič-Rudl, Aleš Pliberšek, but the idea was revived and continued again, especially by Sandi Bitenc, Jure Daič, Andrej Furman, Aleš Novak and of course all those who have stood by the H2O team and helped us all these years.

In recent years, H2O Team has become the leading Slovenian association in the educational, organisational, numerical and, above all, competitive field of scuba diving.
