It all started with the search for a polymer blend that would allow the production of slats with similar performance to carbon fibre and glass, while eliminating the well-known problems of brittleness of these composites.

This led to a compound with unprecedented mechanical properties, which design and manufacturing experience turned into a new technology for producing even higher performance blades.

FRC™ – Fully Responsive Compound technology has thus answered all production requirements:

– The product design exploits the mechanical properties of the compound to give an elastic response similar to that of carbon and glass fibres.

– Due to the high flexibility of the compound, the high strength of the compound against dropping and tearing, even at low temperatures, there is no risk of fracture or permanent deformation of the blade.

– The strength and high resilience of FRC materials allow the characteristic geometry of carbon and glass fibre blades to be fully exploited without the use of reinforcing ribs or shielding.

– Lower carbon footprint compared to conventional technopolymers used in industry and complete absence of toxic elements.

The BM-30’s special feature is therefore this technology, which combines innovative materials with hydrodynamic and ergonomic geometry.

The compound used is so elastic and has such a high shape memory that – in an absurd demonstration – if you were to look at the paddle after it had been rolled on itself, it would return to its original shape and form when released, without any permanent structural deformation that could compromise its performance.

The BM-30’s blade is angled at 30° to facilitate surface swimming and adjusts to the natural angle of the ankles when diving. Small stabilising slats placed at the end of the blade at the point of maximum water flow prevent the fin from slipping sideways, without reducing its power and the blade from bending properly for optimum performance.

The BM30 is a real compromise between quality and price.
