Description
The main aim is to teach students how to dive safely and correctly. They learn how to: breathe properly, prepare psychologically for the dive, equalize pressure, extend the time, length and depth of the dive, and how to rescue survivors. Achieve minimum results in statics (1min 30sec), dynamics (40m) and depth (-10m).
Duration:
Theoretical part: 9 hours (in the form of video lectures or video and classical lectures)
Breathing and relaxation techniques: 2 hours
Swimming pool: 3 hours
Sea: 6 hours
The theoretical part:
9 hours of lectures
– snorkelling equipment, correct use and selection,
– the qualities that make good scuba divers – taking a breath and avoiding stress,
– physics specific to the water environment and the behaviour of gases under pressure,
– theory of the anatomy and physiology of the human body relevant to breath-hold diving,
– the need to breathe, correct breathing before and after a dive,
– the dangers of breath-hold diving and how to avoid them,
– how to dive safely on breathing, safety, rescue and resuscitation,
– 10 rules for safe breathing diving.
Practical part in the pool:
3 hours
– stretching and warming up,
– proper swimming with fins,
– correcting pressure equalisation problems,
– simulating a deep dive,
– the correct dive,
– correct breathing before and after a dive,
– proper underwater swimming with fins,
– static and dynamic apnoea experiment
– maximum submergence.
Practical part at sea:
3 days, 8 hours (deep dives, breathing and relaxation exercises)
– theoretical and practical exercises on relaxation and correct breathing,
– checking the equipment for constant load immersion,
– eliminating pressure equalisation problems at greater depths,
– the correct weight for each student,
– the correct dive and turn at depth,
– slow adaptation to higher pressures and depths,
– constant weight diving up to 20 metres,
– Properly protecting your diving partner,
– rescuing a casualty from the depths,
– orientation when diving into deep blue water.
The course will be led by international PSS Instructor Trainer Jure Daić. The practical part of the course is taught by several instructors.
Price includes:
– Lectures,
– access to the swimming pool,
– a script in Slovenian,
– PSS freediver international licence,
– a diploma and loan of missing equipment.
All students must be members of the H2O team. The annual membership fee is EUR 30.
The theoretical and pool part of the course is held in Maribor, Ljubljana and Krk. The sea part of the course is held on Krk, which allows the courses to be held even in bad weather.
All students must be over 15 years of age. The course is not recommended for heart patients, people with chronic sinus problems or ear infections. Your own equipment is not necessary, but it is desirable (do not buy equipment in advance, further information at the first lectures).
