cebaztianČlanWE can see some people at the start of the list that really wants to go first. Per W and Weine from Sweden AP 1 meter (that both on a good day might make it to the finals). Lotta E also has an eary start. She has been doing 7 laps in her 20 meter pool in Dahab. Nervous Elizabeth is somewhere in the middle, as is Winram and Ryozo and Maldame. Natalja has announced 140.
At the end we see danish Sofus and then Carlos, Alexey, severinsen, henning and Goran Colak 165 meters.
Starts at 1600 wednesday.

Jure DaićAdmin[quote=”cebaztian”DNF Men 123 [/quote]
I think at least +125m. On MADCUP 2007 you need 124m for 8 place. Other thing is if all goes by plan all 4 Slovenian competitors are capable to do 125m. My prediction for A finals is 130m.

cebaztianČlanYes you are right – it might be needed more 125 for DNF men to A finals. And right now it looks like it will be hard work to get into the DYN finals.
westin 200 (could do more he says)
weine 182
Mitja from slovenia 187
Junk Kitama 150 and will probably make it to female finals
Last WC we had 6% BO – we might break that record here

cebaztianČlanExciting. in 6 minutes final heat. Stig, henning, alexey, Goran – if they do more than 179 (maldame) THEY WILL ALL GO TO THE FINALS with westin, winram, weine and Mitja.
Big BO at bootom byNicolas Guerry.

cebaztianČlanas we speak carlos is leaving a protest. The countdown failed during his start. He did 178. To get to the finals you need 180. My guess is that the judges will let him into the finals tomorrow as 9th contender. It is impossible to do four max performances in two days (STA and finals tomorrow).
Sebastian
EDIT
Yes he starts in the final as 9th person in a heat for himself. Welcome back from the depth Carlos.

cebaztianČlanRyozo and Johannna both finalist last year did not make it this year. But Ryozo did a good NR with 173 meters. Johanna just lost it and stopped at 75. It was a black day for Finland also losing Eero in a SPLMCBO.
We saw two nasty BOs Nicolas Guerry stopped swimming at 153 meters and had to be picked up. Martin Legat (I think) was gone for a long time after a 135 Meter swim, not very well handled by safety.
We have two danish and two swedes in the mens final.
Karla CRO and Maldame FR both CMAS champions both made it to Aida final.
Last years winner and 2nd – Natalja and stig made 156 and 200 look easy.
Natalja known for being strategic not overdoing it in qualification.
Last year many athletes in the finals did worse than in Qualification and lost ranking – this year FINALS is a comp in itself and you are guaranteed 8th place.
Nice to see an old veteran like Jean.pol setting a BE record 154.
Many new names in the women final – Alena CZ, Karla Cro, jarmilla CZ.

cebaztianČlanMy predictions DYN
Men 179 was 178 (sorry:-)
Women 144 was 150.
The women are catching up with the men!!

cebaztianČlanAs a videofilmer I find it quite disturbing the constant (more or less) bad qualities of the judge videos year after year (someones kid sister ususally put on the task). OK I am exagerating.
I understand – there are no resources to find someone who UNDERSTANDS freediving and handle a camera under tricky circumstances. What we want is a shoot At a low level, Zooming in just enough and keeping it steady until white card.
Only one videocheck was needed this DYN – but the video was all over the place.
Finnish Lauri surfaced back to judge, turned and faced the judge doing Ok sign and then turned his back again to the judge. SP looked OK, but turning the back towards the judge twice during SP is a violation and the camera revealed a mouth under the surface.
50 euro lost and a place in the finals.

cebaztianČlanThe men has become 14% better this year. It took 179 to get to the finals (last year 153). The women have moved from 124 to 150, an increase of 17%.
Only 3women got DQwhile 16 of the men (mostly LMC/BO). Setting the mens DQ “performance” to an all time high at 26%.
Overall a DQ increase from 12 to 21 % from renens to Maribor.
Today is STA

cebaztianČlanSome of the good things with this WC: – Good dormitory close to the pool (not too posh), options of single or shared.
– Good pool (25 and 50), deep and even.
– Lots of people working. Most of them realy know what they are doing, they are not just wearing a t-shirt.
– Good smooth judging so far (more or less same standards for all). (everyone gets to DQ themselves)
– Good office doing list and the paperwork and internet!!
– A nice city with good prices (for the “western” people I guess). Seems like the city/sponsores are realy supporting.
– Good food/drinks support for the crew.
– Good overall running; with schedules and thelike
– Videoscreens, music, speakers
But…
-The food included in the dormitory stay is not realy optimal for freedivers. A slab of meat (eat it and shut up boy school – kind of feeling.
– Pool too deep for STA (lets see if the tables work).
– Music played during comp too much discoteq feeling.
– Experienced freedivers need experienced safetydivers and that takes a great many comps to be a good safetydiver.

cebaztianČlanNatacha does not lose much energy in the qualifications. She made 156 seem easy. While others were breathing up, natacha was fidling around with her fin at 30 secs. At 20 secs she was looking for her noseclip. 05/07/2007 ob 09:21 #17528
cebaztianČlanSome of you know that I am always looking for areas to improve (looking for faults). So I must remind myself to tell you that this is realy running smooth. So much personel working behind the scene. Today for instance we have a screen showing pictures from several cameras.
As you may have seen in the results. Lotta is back in business: 6.25. Elizabeth might join her in the final with 5.52.
Natalie is unfortunatly out of the final . As is William W (6.35). Maldame was ok at 7.10 but BO at 7.25.

glennČlanDo not see any results online appearing (like yesterday). Something wrong with the webpage ???? 05/07/2007 ob 09:59 #17530
glennČlanAha i see it now. Someting with browser not updating on my Vista computer. On the other computer it works now. 05/07/2007 ob 10:02 #17531
cebaztianČlanWill check. Update? Check submenues? Making babies is not good for freediving.
Johanna Nordblad last years finalist and medlist is out of Sta and Dyn final. training has been sacrificed for being a mother
Karla and Phoebe national records.
Claudia Rollero not good enough for final.
Antero joki FIN 6.59 – will it be enough for final?
05/07/2007 ob 10:12 #17532
cebaztianČlanNatalja Molchanova 5.32 ! Ales from slovenia 7.05 ready fo finals I guess
05/07/2007 ob 10:26 #17533
cebaztianČlanJean pol Francoise has been into freediving since the “beginning”, taking part in the first WC ever back in 1995. Now he is here and have done a PB of 154 NR BE It is still possible to progress and do PB´s still after 12 years in competetive freediving.
Stig is up next.
